Steel slag is main waste of steel plants. Currently, the use of steel slag is left behind in China, mostly with quite simple process technology, featured as large energy consumption, low efficiency and environmental pollution. Therefore, deeply digging steel slag recycling value to create more economic and social effectiveness is a must for an enterprise.
Xuzhou Top-carbon has advanced steel slag processing technology, which is in favor of the steel companies to reduce energy consumption during slag secondary processing, lower production costs and meet the requirements of domestic economy and development trend and those of national industrial policy. Top-Carbon treatment is technically mature and stable and also economically creative. The core results slag processing are that after magnetic separation the content of iron beans larger than 1mm in slag tailings is less than 1%. The "rod mill separation" and special magnetic separation techniques can maximize extraction of the slag particles larger than 5mm (grade up to 80%), and can be used directly in converter and electric furnace for steelmaking. Total iron in slag can reach more than 50% (can also be adjusted according to actual needs of steel mills), so that the use of steel slag achieves maximum value.

Process Features
Xuzhou Top-carbon uses the design concept of combining foreign mature slag separation technology with actual domestic demand for production. Design a line with domestic demand for iron and steel production process. In order to enable iron and steel enterprises to meet the requirements of energy saving, such process is characterized as follows:
1. Mature, reliable, advanced and practical " dry type magnetic slag separation" processing technology can realize mechanization and continuous flow throughout slag processing, combined with actual situation of project and material condition, so that the process configuration is reasonable, and smooth. With leading domestic technology and international advanced equipments of same type of magnetic crushing production line, slag can be separate from steel by the use of rod mill exciting force. Three parameters (humidity, particle size, feeding capacity) are integrated controlled with process optimization to ensure slag, steel completely separated. Due to low energy consumption, low water content and easiness for reuse, all aspects of operating costs are minimized. Therefore, such slag processing technology can be deemed as feasible and profit maximization can be achieved.
2. After treatment by slag crushing magnetic separation process, slag and steel are complete separated, resulting in high grade steel slag products which can well meet the requirements of the steelworks. This can avoid harms caused by low-grade steel slag to steelworks, which is enriched with residue, big splash, casting defects caused by difficulty in accurate weighing, etc. Iron and steel material are recollected to maximum amount in slag tailings, saving resources and avoiding waste. Recollecting of iron of 1mm and above can reach above 99%. Metal grades of 5mm or above can reach up to 80% or more, which can be directly used in steelmaking. Flour of 5mm or less can be adjusted for any grade of content above 50%, or directly compressed into a solid ball used in steelmaking for oxygen and cooling.
3. It can be designed according to customer amount of investment and land available. Major equipment and magnetic systems are the company's own non-standard products. Reasonable collocation of equipments enables the effective separation of slag and steel, so that slag will maximize iron metal recycling. The entire production process takes automation design, greatly reducing the workload and the number of site operators. All major equipments are designed and produced in China to reduce investment in equipment and ensure follow-up service. Control system design is advanced, practical, stable and reliable to ensure the smooth operation of the project. This technology is more suitable for large-scale production and the amount of processing can be designed according to the amount of steel slag. Steel companies with annual output of 1 million to 10 million tons can use the technology.
4. Top-Carbon takes emphasis on processing of dust and noise in project production, the use of reliable and comprehensive environmental protection facilities. The design is in accord with national and local standards for safety, health and environmental protection. Such technology can improve working conditions as well as production efficiency, thus energy-saving technologies and rational use of energy. The concept of “strict, fine, solid” is embodied in design to optimize and control investment scale and improve the level of equipment. During project implementation process, existing facilities for normal production and access for checking are fully taken account and at the same time implementing relevant laws, regulations, standards, and regulations of the state, industry and local government, especially in environmental protection, energy, safety and health, fire safety standards and regulations.
Economic advantage
All products can be directly used in steelmaking segment. Sintering and blast furnace iron making processes are deleted, saving lost of cost. Take Jiangsu Xuzhou Steel Group for example, with an annual output of 3 million steel, it produces 450,000 tons of steel slag. Without the use of our technology, previously it selected 102016-04-23 tons of low iron slag by dry-type to be used for sintering and blast furnace, meaning about 90 million RMB production cost (blast furnace and sinter production cost of 900 RMB per ton for calculation). Through our company's slag treatment process, Xuzhou Steel Group reduces cost for scrap iron purchase iron and steel slag, direct production cost falls by more than 30 RMB per ton, which is not a small profit growth considering today's tiny profit of steel enterprises.
